Vibration sensors inside compatible digital water meters report signals from the distribution network. Daily analysis helps utility staff identify suspect areas, investigate hidden leakage and check signals after a repair.
A leak can produce pipe vibration before water becomes visible at the surface. Sotto from Iota places vibration sensors inside compatible ultrasonic water meters and combines their readings with Sotto Analytics, the network leak analysis service. Water utilities can use the daily records to direct investigation towards suspect parts of the distribution network.
The integrated sensor uses the meter's battery and captures vibration samples during the quieter part of the night. Readings travel in the meter's daily payload over NB-IoT with LwM2M communication. Analysis compares the represented signals and provides a changing view of network conditions. The sensors are available integrated into selected meters manufactured by licensees Landis+Gyr, Sagemcom and Huizhong.
Utility staff examine the indicated area and arrange a field check before selecting a repair. Comparing readings before and after work helps the team assess whether the vibration signal has changed. Deployment planning sets the meter locations and sensor density for the represented pipe network. This creates a repeatable daily monitoring route using the digital meter fleet, with readings available for leak investigation alongside the utility's ordinary network work.

The commercial sensor is integrated into compatible ultrasonic digital meters from licensees Landis+Gyr, Sagemcom and Huizhong. Select a meter carrying the supported sensor integration.
It uses the main meter battery and includes the vibration readings in the meter daily payload. The published integrated-meter connection uses NB-IoT and LwM2M.
Sotto is tuned for pipe vibration associated with network-side leaks. Ordinary digital meter consumption records support a different task, including checks for continuous use on customer properties.
