Battery dispatch for energy storage operators

Storage equipment exchanges charge and power values through selected plant-control interfaces. Software evaluates the operating mode and requested output, then sends converter commands for scheduled absorption or injection.

About Battery dispatch for energy storage operators

Stored energy needs a dispatch arrangement that relates charge conditions to the plant's requested output. GreenPowerMonitor provides an Energy Management System for controlling power absorption and injection at battery facilities. The application integrates with selected SCADA, power plant controller and third-party systems. Its operating modes organise dispatch and state-of-charge handling for the represented storage plant and grid connection.

Compatible equipment interfaces supply the power and charge values used by the control arrangement. Regular dispatch follows the selected request at the interconnection, while charge-droop and charge-target modes address average or desired state of charge. The plant-balancing functions modify active-power commands across subsystems. Calibration mode aligns their charge states, and manual mode sets individual power requests for the chosen equipment.

A scheduler executes predefined CSV commands at assigned times, using locally or remotely configured setpoints. Selected controller integration adds active and reactive power control and the agreed grid-support functions. Plant operators review the chosen modes and command schedule as they manage charging and discharge work. The combined services keep dispatch, charge balancing and scheduled actions in the represented facility's control arrangement, with the commissioned equipment carrying out the selected power commands.

How it works

Sense
Read battery plant power and state-of-charge values.
Connect
Exchange operating data through compatible control interfaces.
Analyze
Evaluate dispatch, charge-target and plant-balancing modes.
Act
Execute scheduled absorption, injection and converter setpoints.

Questions and answers

What is the difference between charge-droop and charge-target operation?

The charge-droop mode addresses the average state of charge. Charge-target mode operates towards the desired charge value under the selected control arrangement.

How does calibration mode differ from manual subsystem power control?

Calibration mode aligns the state of charge across battery subsystems. Manual mode sets individual active-power requests for the represented equipment.

How are future battery commands entered for automatic execution?

The scheduler uses a CSV file containing predefined commands and assigned times. Setpoints are configured locally or remotely within the agreed plant-control arrangement.
