About Visitor movement tracking for shopping mall operators

Comparing activity at entrances and between floors helps mall managers review how shoppers use the property. FootfallCam combines entrance counting, zone cameras and central analytics for visitor traffic, occupancy and journeys. The connected arrangement relates measured areas to floor performance, shared amenities and the timing of marketing events.

Pro2, the overhead 3D stereo counter, uses PoE and Ethernet at entrances and selected floor transitions. Pro1 zone cameras or compatible existing CCTV connect with Centroid, the local AI hub, for aisle and open-area analysis. V9, the central analytics platform, brings the resulting metrics into occupancy dashboards, journey analysis and heatmaps. Counters at escalators, lifts and entrances relate movements to the represented floors and areas.

Managers inspect busy and quiet zones before reviewing tenant positioning, layout or staffing. Event analysis compares visitor traffic and dwell patterns before, during and after the selected campaign, with sales included through the supported data arrangement. Historical occupancy and session records also show peak periods and time spent in measured areas. The combined entrance counts, floor movements and event reports give the mall team a reference for checking daily operation and evaluating changes across its property.

Questions and answers

How are movements between mall floors measured?

Counters or selected cameras cover escalators, lifts and floor transitions. Their records support floor occupancy and traffic comparisons.

Can the mall keep existing CCTV for zone analytics?

Yes. Compatible CCTV connects with Centroid for local AI analysis, with Pro1 cameras used where additional zone views are needed.

What mounting range does the Pro2 entrance counter support?

The ceiling-mounted Pro2 uses PoE and Ethernet and supports mounting heights from 2.1 to 6.0 metres.

How does a campaign review compare the event with ordinary trading?

The analysis compares traffic and dwell patterns before, during and after the selected event. Supported sales records add context to the represented campaign period.
