HydroVu for river level alerts

Selected pressure or non-contact radar instruments transfer station measurements through cellular telemetry to cloud software. Agency staff review changing conditions and configured thresholds when planning field responses.

About HydroVu for river level alerts

Flood-monitoring staff need water-level histories and current station measurements across the locations they manage. In-Situ combines selected pressure or radar instruments with telemetry and HydroVu data services for that workflow. The chosen network supplies records for agency review, field investigation and the corresponding flood-response planning process.

Level TROLL NC, the non-contact radar instrument, measures the water surface without placing the sensor in the water. Other chosen installations use pressure-based level instruments. A compatible VuLink cellular logger transfers the represented readings to the cloud account. The NC arrangement requires the selected lithium-battery supply and a single connected instrument. Staff use VuSitu, the mobile setup application, to configure chosen logging settings and review the radar signal or measurement point. The selected instrument interface also supports the corresponding external collection arrangement.

Agency staff graph station histories, compare locations and review configured alarm conditions. Uploaded logs and field files remain available with the instrument records. HydroVu provides selected dashboards and data exchange for the chosen monitoring workflow. Separate instruments provide rainfall or flow measurements when included in the network. Staff assess a rising level or reported change against the site conditions, contact the assigned response team and decide the physical follow-up. The application supplies station data and notifications for that decision.

How it works

Sense
Measure water-surface level with selected pressure or radar devices.
Connect
Send chosen station readings through the cellular telemetry logger.
Analyze
Compare level histories and configured station alarm conditions.
Act
Notify assigned staff and assess the required field response.

Questions and answers

How does the NC radar option measure the river surface without immersion?

Level TROLL NC uses non-contact radar measurement. Staff mount and configure the selected instrument for the represented water surface and review its signal through the mobile setup workflow.

What power restriction applies when Level TROLL NC is connected to VuLink?

The NC arrangement requires VuLink to use lithium batteries and limits that connection to one instrument. Staff confirm the suitable power and telemetry setup before collecting the selected radar records.

Which external collection interfaces are published for the selected NC instrument?

The radar instrument supports Modbus over RS-485 and SDI-12. Staff configure the chosen interface and suitable power arrangement for the receiving collection system.

Do level instruments automatically supply rainfall and flow measurements too?

Those measurements require the corresponding selected instruments and collection arrangement. Staff choose the sensors for each parameter represented in the monitoring network.

How is this deployment priced?

Every page carries a cost estimate by IoT Apps for your own sites and assets; set your budget and invite In-Situ to confirm a price and lead time.

What does a deployment cost?

For 1 site with 10 monitored assets in United States, IoT Apps estimates $1,800 – $6,200 in the first year and $300 – $1,200 every year after. This is an estimate based on comparable deployments, not a quote from In-Situ.
