WaterOS for district water accounting

Bulk and customer meter records connect through SCADA, MQTT or REST feeds to a water-balance application. Utility analysts align supply and consumption by district and period, then investigate discrepancies and missing coverage.

About WaterOS for district water accounting

Comparing the water supplied to a district with its represented consumption gives utility analysts a reference for reconciliation. Float IoT provides the WaterOS Water Balance application alongside connected utility data feeds. The workflow brings selected bulk-meter, customer-meter and operating records into a district account for the period being reviewed.

Supported meters, supervisory systems, historical streams and connected data services supply inflow, outflow, consumption and asset context. The platform ingests, maps and tags selected data through SCADA, MQTT and REST integrations. Water Balance aligns the represented measurements by district and time period, then compares supplied water with authorised consumption. The resulting account relates each comparison to the selected meter coverage and utility records used in the review.

Analysts examine an unexpected difference, check whether the corresponding measurements are present and decide which account or field location needs investigation. They reconcile district records and prioritise follow-up where a loss pattern or missing input changes the comparison. Retained measurements support subsequent reporting and another period's review. The connected meter inputs and district account give the team a common reference for tracing a discrepancy and planning the next validation task.

How it works

Sense
Collect supported inflow, outflow and customer-meter records.
Connect
Map SCADA, MQTT or REST feeds to district accounts.
Analyze
Align period measurements and compare supply with consumption.
Act
Prioritise account reconciliation and physical coverage checks.

Does it fit your project?

  • District water accounting analysts
  • Utility meter coverage review teams
  • Water-loss reconciliation programmes

You need

  • Supported bulk and customer meters
  • Selected supervisory or data feeds
  • District water balance application
  • Matched periods and meter coverage

Limitations

  • Only represented district and meter inputs
  • Requires matching review periods and coverage

Questions and answers

Which inputs form the represented district water account?

Supported bulk and customer meters, supervisory systems, historical streams and connected services supply inflow, outflow, consumption and asset context.

Why are district measurements aligned to the same period?

The balance application compares supplied water with authorised consumption for the represented district and period. A missing or mismatched input changes that comparison.

What follow-up can a district discrepancy support?

Analysts reconcile the account, validate meter coverage, investigate abnormal loss and prioritise selected field checks using the represented inputs.

How is this deployment priced?

What does a deployment cost?

For 1 site with 10 monitored assets in United States, IoT Apps estimates $2,100 – $6,700 in the first year and $200 – $800 every year after. This is an estimate based on comparable deployments, not a quote from Float IoT.
