Water metering and billing for utility teams

Water meters supply readings to M-Bus gateways, which return them over NB-IoT or cellular services. Utility teams process consumption, associate it with customers and use accepted values for billing.

About Water metering and billing for utility teams

Collecting water use through a connected meter arrangement gives utility teams a shared input for customer billing and consumption review. Esyasoft combines compatible meters and IoT gateways with a head-end system, meter data management and utility billing software. The selected installation returns physical readings into the utility's agreed data and service-account workflow.

A compatible water meter communicates through the appropriate M-Bus gateway interface. The battery-powered bulk M-Bus gateway returns readings over NB-IoT, while selected combined gateway models use supported cellular connections and an AC supply with battery backup. The project chooses the model and power arrangement for its meter installation. The head-end system gathers the received records, and the meter-data platform collects, validates and processes the supplied consumption values.

The utility associates accepted readings with the represented customer and network records before using them in billing and collections. Staff examine consumption changes or service exceptions through selected reports and analytics and follow up on the corresponding meter or account. Customer indexation helps maintain the relationships needed for this operating record. The connected process lets the team use returned water readings in customer service and planning, while selected gateway management tools support configuration and software updates for the installed collection equipment.

How it works

Sense
Read water consumption through the compatible meter interface.
Connect
Return gateway records over NB-IoT or selected cellular links.
Analyze
Validate readings and link them with customer service records.
Act
Use accepted consumption in billing, reports and follow-up work.

Questions and answers

What does the battery-powered bulk water gateway connect to?

It uses an M-Bus meter interface and NB-IoT upstream service in the selected compatible water-meter arrangement.

How do combined gateway power arrangements differ?

Selected combined models use an AC supply with battery backup, while the bulk M-Bus model is battery powered. The project chooses the appropriate installed model.

How are water readings prepared for service-account use?

The meter-data platform collects, validates and processes consumption, with accepted records linked to the represented customer and network relationships.

Can supported gateway settings and software be managed remotely?

Yes. Selected gateway models support remote configuration and firmware updates through their management arrangement.

How is this deployment priced?
