Onboard detectors send nearby vehicle and pedestrian signals to a gateway and operator display. Mining staff review warnings and logged events, with the selected vehicle interface supporting configured intervention.
Detecting nearby vehicles and pedestrians gives mining operators a basis for reviewing a developing traffic conflict. Epiroc supplies the Titan Collision Avoidance System for underground, surface and plant operations. The modular system combines sensing technologies with an onboard evaluation gateway, a driver interface and the selected vehicle-control connection.
The fourth-generation underground arrangement combines low-frequency, time-of-flight and sub-GHz radio detection. Gateway100, the vehicle interface and processing unit, manages connected sensors, combines threat inputs and runs collision algorithms. It forwards information to Commander HMI100, the operator display, which presents audible and visual feedback. The gateway stores interaction and event records, with Wi-Fi and other selected interfaces serving the installed system connection. Internal battery backup supports the gateway and display units.
The configured operating level determines the resulting response. Level 7 alerts the operator, Level 8 provides advisory feedback and Level 9 applies automatic slowing or stopping through a compatible vehicle interface. Site teams use the stored interaction records when reviewing the installation and its traffic events. The selected language settings shape the voice and display feedback presented to the operator, while the installed sensor arrangement covers the corresponding vehicle and pedestrian detection task.

Warn forklift drivers of nearby collision risks.

Warn forklift drivers and apply configured speed zones.

Gateway100 manages the connected sensing devices, combines detected threats, applies the collision algorithms and sends information to the operator display.
Level 7 provides operator alerts and Level 8 advisory feedback. Level 9 applies slowing or stopping through the compatible vehicle interface.
Commander HMI100 presents audible and visual prompts, supports selected language settings and retains interaction or event records with internal battery backup.
