Wireless process gauges send measured values through a plant gateway to monitoring software. Operating teams view current pressure, historical trends and device condition, then use configured thresholds to organise field checks.
Remote gauge readings help plant staff check a process point before travelling to the equipment. Emerson connects compatible wireless pressure gauges with an application that presents current values, trends and device condition. Operating teams can compare readings across the connected gauges and examine a changing point through the same interface.
The physical gauge contains an electronic pressure sensor, a local dial and status indication, and battery-powered wireless communications. WirelessHART sends measurement and device data to a compatible gateway, which supplies the application platform. In a standard installation the software runs on a local virtual machine, a software computer hosted on a suitable server or PC. Staff use a supported web browser over the configured plant network to open the pressure records and status displays.
Users configure alert thresholds for the pressure conditions they want to follow. The application presents the resulting status alongside the measured trends and gauge condition indicators. Staff can investigate an unusual reading, organise an appropriate field check and review the values that follow an intervention. Combining remote process readings with device condition helps the operating team decide which measurement point or gauge needs attention before making the next inspection round.
