Assistance requests for residential care facilities

Residential facilities can combine portable help buttons with bedside and wall call points. Requests reach one platform where assigned staff identify the event, attend to the resident and record the response.

About Assistance requests for residential care facilities

A residential facility may need both mobile and fixed ways for residents to ask for help. Life Plus combines wearable watches or medallions with selected bedside and wall call devices in one assistance platform. The team chooses the device for the resident's abilities and the location, retaining familiar fixed call points alongside portable assistance requests.

The bedside call device has a recognisable red, textured button and a light that confirms the request has been sent. A wall-mounted pull cord provides another way to raise an event, including in wet rooms. Resident wearables add a mobile call function, with automatic fall detection and location available for selected profiles. All represented devices link to the shared platform so assigned staff can review the request and record the intervention.

The facility sets the chosen devices, resident profiles and response responsibilities before use. A standalone backup kit can provide an alternative alert arrangement during maintenance or a fault in an existing call system. Device installation and staff training must fit the building and its care procedures. The common event history supports later service review, while an illuminated confirmation means that a request was sent rather than that a staff member has already attended.

Questions and answers

What does the light on the bedside call button confirm?

It confirms that the alert has been sent. It does not indicate that a responder has already arrived.

Can fixed call points operate alongside the resident watch?

Yes. Bedside buttons and wall pull cords connect to the same platform as the selected wearables. The facility chooses the mixture needed for its rooms and residents.

What is the standalone backup kit intended for?

It provides an alternative alert arrangement during a fault or maintenance of an existing nurse-call system. The facility must include it in its own response and backup procedures.
