Roadside event messages for connected vehicle teams

by Derq

Roadside cameras and sensors feed a platform that generates V2X event and movement messages for radio units or other feeds. Connected vehicle teams integrate those messages to receive road-hazard and road-user information.

About Roadside event messages for connected vehicle teams

Infrastructure measurements provide a shared view of road events and movements for connected systems. Derq combines roadside sensor and camera inputs to generate vehicle-to-everything, or V2X, messages. Connected vehicle, fleet and traffic-management teams integrate the outputs with their own receiving equipment and applications.

AI processing combines the inputs into a digital twin, a real-time representation of road users in the monitored environment. The platform produces message types including Basic Safety Messages, Personal Safety Messages, Sensor Data Sharing Messages and Traveler Information Messages. Roadside units, or RSUs, broadcast the outputs, with event-streaming and navigation platforms providing other delivery arrangements. The integration supports C-V2X radio units, 5G networks and compatible camera hardware.

Event feeds cover hazards, stalled vehicles, work zones, closures and congestion. Sensor-sharing messages add road-user movements, including pedestrian and cyclist positions and vehicle trajectories. Compatible controller integrations use these inputs for configured actions such as pedestrian walk extensions or all-red phases. These shared records give receiving systems information beyond their own measurements and give the operating team a basis for checking the connected road application.

How it works

Sense
Measure road events and movements with cameras and sensors.
Connect
Combine inputs and send V2X outputs through connected feeds.
Analyze
Generate event, road-user movement and signal messages.
Act
Broadcast alerts or apply configured controller actions.
