Solar plant performance monitoring for energy operators

Irradiance, module-temperature and weather instruments send measurements to station loggers for assessment and operating reports. Solar teams compare conditions, review soiling losses and maintain the chosen measurement network.

About Solar plant performance monitoring for energy operators

Solar plant performance monitoring brings site measurements into project assessment and continuing operational review. Campbell Scientific provides standard and configurable station arrangements for utility-scale solar teams. The range covers resource assessment before development, operational meteorology and measurements used in photovoltaic performance analysis and long-term plant support.

SunScout, the Class A resource-assessment station, collects selected irradiance, soiling and weather measurements. SunSentry, the operational meteorological station, provides a standard approach for utility-scale operating sites. Instruments include irradiance sensors, back-of-module temperature probes and selected weather components. DustVue equipment measures module soiling losses, while digital sensor options use Modbus over RS-485. Programmable loggers collect the chosen records, and selected battery systems keep acquisition operating through a power interruption.

Teams use the received measurements for plant reporting, resource analysis and comparison of cleaning effects or site variability. Modular components support suitable replacements and additional measurement points as the project develops. Services include station siting, installation, commissioning, staff training and selected maintenance programmes. Calibration services cover instruments such as irradiance sensors, temperature and humidity probes, loggers and barometers, supporting the continuing field measurement record and performance-review workflow.
